The Libertarian Party National Convention for 2006 is to be held in Portland Oregon. The major business sessions will be on July 1st
and 2nd (Saturday and Sunday).
However, there are also events on either side of these dates.
-
The first casual events around the hotel begin on the evening of
Wednesday, June 28.
-
The Platform Committee and the Bylaws Committee meet on Thursday and
Friday (June 29-30). (If anyone has attended such committee meetings
in the past, please comment on the degree which non-committee members
can lobby and participate.)
-
Friday, the LNC meets, and there are also constituency meetings.
That evening, there is a general reception. (TBD: look into meeting space for the LRC...) This is prime time to lobby delegates before
the general business meeting on Saturday!
-
The business sessions are Saturday and Sunday. (I think the platform
and bylaws committee reports are on Saturday{TBR})
-
Monday is the Torch Club ($1000 club) breakfast and the first meeting
of the new National Committee. If you plan to run for LNC office,
schedule your plane ticket so you can attend.
-
There may be something on July 4 for those still around.
See the official LP Convention Web Site for more details.
BE THERE!
National conventions are fun! And if you are not a delegate yet, the
odds are good that some state has empty seats for you. (You can be
a delegate for a state that is not your home state.)
This could be one of the most important conventions in LP history!
That is, if we show up and make it so...
